{"id":2425,"date":"2026-06-25T06:34:23","date_gmt":"2026-06-25T06:34:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nigerianreporters.com\/?p=2425"},"modified":"2026-06-25T06:34:23","modified_gmt":"2026-06-25T06:34:23","slug":"amachree-corruption-political-failure-fueling-nigerias-security-crisis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nigerianreporters.com\/NG\/2026\/06\/25\/amachree-corruption-political-failure-fueling-nigerias-security-crisis\/","title":{"rendered":"AMACHREE: CORRUPTION, POLITICAL FAILURE FUELING NIGERIA\u2019S SECURITY CRISIS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Former Director of the Department of State Services (DSS), Dennis Amachree, has described corruption and the lack of patriotism among Nigeria\u2019s political class as major threats to the country\u2019s security and stability.<\/p>\n<p>Amachree made the remarks in his book, \u201cDSS@40: My Journey Behind The Shield,\u201d which was presented during the 40th anniversary celebration of the DSS.<\/p>\n<p>In the publication, he argues that many of Nigeria\u2019s security challenges stem not only from criminal and insurgent activities but also from failures in governance and leadership.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the inability of political leaders to deliver the dividends of democracy has contributed significantly to instability across the country.
