Nollywood actor Charles Okocha was declared the winner of his celebrity boxing rematch against street-pop artiste Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, after the singer was disqualified for leaving the ring before the end of the opening round.

The bout, tagged “Unfinished Business,” was held on Friday at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, and was organised to settle the controversy surrounding their first encounter, which Okocha had maintained was wrongly awarded to Portable.

The contest began on an intense note, with Portable appearing to dominate the early exchanges. However, the fight soon descended into a wrestling-style altercation, forcing the referee to halt the action as security personnel and bodyguards intervened to separate both fighters.

Following the interruption, Portable walked out of the ring before the bout could resume, drawing jeers from spectators who had gathered for the highly anticipated rematch. Although efforts were made to persuade him to return, officials ruled him disqualified, handing Okocha the victory.

Before the fight, Portable, who arrived at the venue with his son, expressed hope for a positive outcome, saying, “I am not happy, but I want God to make me happy and my family.”

The result overturned the outcome of their first meeting, which Portable won, and came despite the singer’s confident claims during the pre-fight weigh-in that he remained the better boxer.
