President Bola Tinubu has approved a high-level Nigerian delegation led by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, to attend the maiden Nigeria Diaspora Investment Economic Conference in Toronto, Canada.
The delegation comprises five state governors Babagana Zulum of Borno, Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra, Uba Sani of Kaduna, Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau and Dauda Lawal of Zamfara.
Also attending the August 12 to 15 conference are Foreign Affairs Minister Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Industry, Trade and Investment Minister Jumoke Oduwole, and Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
The conference, themed “Invest Nigeria, Thrive Abroad,” is being organised by the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission in partnership with the Nigerian High Commission in Ottawa, the Canadian High Commission in Abuja and other stakeholders.
The forum is expected to promote investment opportunities in key sectors, including agriculture, technology, manufacturing, infrastructure, energy, healthcare and the digital economy.
NiDCOM Chairman, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, said the conference would strengthen economic cooperation between Nigeria and Canada while connecting international investors with investment-ready opportunities in Nigeria.
