Fast-rising Afrobeats singer Mavo is currently facing heavy criticism on social media after old posts allegedly linking him to comments about Davido’s 2023 controversy resurfaced online.
The backlash began after Nigerians dug up tweets in which Mavo allegedly claimed Davido tried to pressure American model Anita Brown into terminating her pregnancy during the widely publicized allegations she made against the singer in June 2023.
At the time, Anita Brown accused Davido of impregnating her and also drew criticism for making disrespectful remarks about his wife, Chioma, before later issuing a public apology.
Fresh reactions intensified after some X users accused Mavo of speaking about industry colleagues behind their backs, including claims that he allegedly gossiped about Shallipopi while also commenting on Davido despite later being seen around some of the same music industry figures.
