Two Suspected Thieves Arrested for Allegedly Stealing Household Items in Rivers

Two suspected thieves have been apprehended in Buguma, Asari-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State, for allegedly stealing household items from an unoccupied residence.

The suspects were reportedly caught by residents while attempting to cart away cooking pots and electrical wires from the house.


According to eyewitness accounts, the owner of the property resides in Port Harcourt, leaving the house largely unoccupied. The suspects were alleged to have previously broken into the residence on several occasions, making away with a thunder protector, electrical wiring and other metal items without being detected.

Their alleged activities came to an end when they reportedly returned to the house for another burglary. Residents, who had become suspicious of their movements, allegedly caught them in the act and apprehended them.

The suspects were subsequently handed over to the appropriate authorities for further investigation. Police authorities had yet to issue an official statement on the incident as of the time of filing this report.
