Former Force Public Relations Officer, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Benjamin Hundeyin, has assumed office as the Commander of Police Mobile Force (PMF) Squadron 31 in Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State.
The development became known on Monday after photographs of the senior police officer leading a delegation on a courtesy visit to the Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Area, Pastor Jude Chukwunwike, resurfaced online.
A media aide to the Delta State Governor, Fetuga Robert-Anyawu, confirmed Hundeyin’s new appointment in a Facebook post, identifying him as the Commander of PMF Squadron 31, Ogwashi-Uku.
During the visit, Hundeyin met with the council chairman and other local government officials to discuss collaboration on strengthening security in the area.
Officials present at the meeting included the Vice Chairman of Aniocha South LGA, Patricia Ekwutozam Adolue; the Council Secretary, Prince Tony Ebube; the Supervisory Councillor for Health, Austin Unorchie; and other government functionaries.
Hundeyin previously served as the Force Public Relations Officer, having been appointed to the position in September 2025 by the then Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun. He was appointed as a Chief Superintendent of Police and was later promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police.
Before becoming the Force spokesperson, Hundeyin served as the Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command and also worked at the Zone 2 Police Command Headquarters in Lagos.
In 2020, he was part of Nigeria’s contingent to the United Nations peacekeeping mission in Darfur, Sudan.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Lagos State University and a master’s degree in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan.
Hundeyin’s redeployment followed a leadership reshuffle in the Nigeria Police Force after the appointment of Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu.
