The Nigeria Police Force has arrested Adeniyi Adeyemi, the alleged Director-General of the purported Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), over allegations of fraud, forgery, and impersonation.
Adeyemi’s arrest followed a warrant issued by Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court in Abuja after he failed to appear for his scheduled arraignment on Monday.
The police had filed an eight-count charge against him, accusing him of forgery, fraud, and impersonation in connection with the activities of the purported council.
Adeyemi was expected to be arraigned alongside other defendants, who were also absent from the court proceedings.
The case centres on the alleged operation of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, which authorities say is a fake organisation that falsely presented itself as a government institution.
