A Federal High Court in Abuja has scheduled July 7, 2026, to hear the substantive suit filed by the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), seeking an order compelling the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognise the party’s Kabir Turaki-led interim National Working Committee.
Justice Salim Ibrahim fixed the date on Tuesday after parties agreed to exchange all outstanding court processes before the next hearing.
The court directed all parties to file and serve their documents on or before July 6, warning that no further adjournments would be granted.
The PDP BoT is asking the court to direct INEC to update the party’s official records to reflect the interim leadership ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to the plaintiffs, INEC is obligated to comply with existing court judgments, which they claim nullified the PDP’s 2025 national convention and affirmed the suspension of some party officials.
In may,4, 2026, the supreme Court invalidate the executive of the Factional PPD which led to the formation of the PDP Interim National Working Committee (INWC):
