The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, alongside the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Hope Uzodimma, and other senior members of the All Progressives Congress, has arrived in Osogbo, Osun State, ahead of the party’s mega rally scheduled for Thursday.

Also in the state for the rally are the Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo; Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo; Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa; and a member of the House of Representatives, James Faleke.

The arrival of the party’s top leaders and governors is expected to strengthen the APC’s grassroots campaign as it makes a final push to secure support for Oyebamiji across the state.

APC mega rally for AMBO  is expected to attract party leaders, supporters, campaign coordinators and other members from the 30 local government areas of Osun State.

The Independent National Electoral Commission had set August 13 as the deadline for campaigns following the rescheduling of the governorship election from August 8 to August 15.

Oyebamiji, a former Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority, emerged as the APC’s candidate after the party’s governorship primary in Osogbo.

He has since embarked on a statewide campaign, promising to pursue policies aimed at accelerating development in Osun and calling on residents to support his candidacy.

Ahead of the rally, the visiting governors and other party leaders have begun engagements with APC members and supporters, including indigenes of their respective states living in Osun.

The party hopes the final mobilisation will translate into increased voter support for Oyebamiji when Osun residents head to the polls on Saturday.

APC  rally is expected to be the final major show of strength before the official campaign period ends at midnight on Thursday.
