The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, Benjamin Omale, has called on residents of Benue South Senatorial District to remain peaceful and refrain from taking the law into their own hands following recent attacks that claimed several lives.

Omale made the appeal during a visit to communities affected by the violence, including Otukpo Nobi, Efuyi Ugboju, Olahimu, Ankpechi and Ondo Ugboju in Otukpo and Ohinmini Local Government Areas.

The attacks reportedly left several people dead, while many others sustained injuries and property was destroyed.

Addressing residents, the APC chairman condemned the killings and destruction, describing the attacks as unacceptable. He acknowledged the pain and trauma suffered by victims and their families, urging residents to avoid retaliation and instead support security agencies with credible and timely information to help prevent further attacks.

He also commended security personnel for their efforts in responding to the crisis but urged them to intensify operations to identify and apprehend those responsible for the violence.

Omale stressed the need for stronger collaboration among the federal and state governments, traditional rulers, religious leaders, community stakeholders and youths to restore lasting peace in the affected areas.

The APC chairman further praised President Bola Tinubu and Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia for their efforts to improve security, saying every Nigerian life is valuable and must be protected.

Omale extended condolences to families who lost loved ones, prayed for the repose of the deceased, and donated relief materials to survivors to help ease the impact of the attacks.
