Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has appealed to United States President Donald Trump to pay attention to the political situation in Osun State ahead of the forthcoming election.

Davido made the appeal in a statement addressed to Trump, expressing concern over what he described as growing tension and the possibility of violence, intimidation and disruption of the democratic process in the state.

The FIA  singer urged the United States and the international community to closely monitor the election and encourage relevant authorities to protect voters and ensure that their votes are respected.

“Osun people deserve to exercise their constitutional right to vote freely, peacefully, and without fear,” Davido said.

He stressed the need to prevent violence during the electoral process, adding that the people of Osun State want peace, transparency and a credible election.

“We do not want bloodshed. We do not want intimidation. We want peace, transparency, and a free and fair election,” he said.

The appeal comes amid heightened political activities in Osun State, with stakeholders expected to intensify preparations as the election approaches.

Davido also tagged Trump’s official account, @realDonaldTrump, in the statement.
