Nigerian TikTok personality Nsikak Abigail, popularly known as Mirabel, has returned to social media months after undergoing rehabilitation in Ogun State following a false rape allegation that sparked widespread controversy.
Mirabel made several posts on TikTok on Saturday, marking her first known public appearance on the platform in months.
In one of the posts, she wrote, “I survived, so I’m awaiting your hate comments,” while another carried the caption, “Out of therapy but not healed.”
She also wrote, “Made peace with my mental health since rehab couldn’t help. Hi y’all.”
Mirabel first gained widespread attention in February 2026 after alleging that an unidentified man had invaded her residence in Ogijo, Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State, and sexually assaulted her.
Her claims went viral, generating widespread outrage and prompting reactions from celebrities, activists and members of the public.
However, inconsistencies in her account later emerged, leading to increased scrutiny of the allegation. Mirabel subsequently admitted during a conversation with social media activist Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, that the rape claim was false.
She also admitted creating the TikTok account allegedly used by the supposed attacker and said she had been taking drugs and was not thinking clearly at the time.
Following her admission, Mirabel voluntarily reported herself at a police station and was subsequently placed under the care of the Ogun State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.
Rather than proceed immediately with prosecution, the state government opted for psychosocial rehabilitation while investigations continued.
In June, Ogun State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Oluwasina Ogungbade, said investigations had established that the rape allegation was “false and deliberately fabricated.” He added that the authorities found no offender to apprehend or prosecute in connection with the alleged incident.
Mirabel’s return to social media comes approximately six months after the controversy began.
Although she did not disclose when she left the rehabilitation programme, her recent posts suggest that she may still be dealing with the emotional and psychological consequences of the events.
