The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has resolved more than 5,000 complaints from candidates within five days following the intervention of its newly appointed Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina.

Aina reportedly moved his office to the Board’s SERVICOM Unit to personally examine outstanding complaints and gain first-hand insight into the challenges confronting candidates.

According to a statement by JAMB’s Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr Fabian Benjamin, the Registrar directed SERVICOM Desk Officers to address candidates’ complaints promptly and comprehensively.

The statement said the intervention resolved several issues, including difficulties generating profile codes with telephone numbers previously used for JAMB registration, biometric verification challenges and cases involving genuine biometric failures during the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The exercise also addressed complaints relating to the Central Admissions Processing System, including cases involving candidates who lost their phones or SIM cards, candidates who switched from Direct Entry to UTME and graduates whose names were omitted from the National Matriculation List.

Other complaints resolved included payment difficulties, inappropriate examination venues, e-PIN challenges, technical problems, document-upload issues and requests for changes to names, dates of birth, states and local government areas of origin.

JAMB said the initiative is part of Aina’s administration’s “Five Enduring Pillars,” particularly the “Service at Heart” pillar, which places efficient and responsive service delivery at the centre of the Board’s operations.

Aina intervention is aimed at strengthening JAMB’s relationship with candidates and ensuring that the services provided by the examination body are commensurate with the fees paid by applicants.
