Indian authorities have arrested four Nigerian nationals in separate anti-narcotics operations as part of an ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking across the country.

One of the suspects, identified as Ugochukwu Nwabugo, sustained injuries after allegedly jumping from the sixth floor of a residential building during a raid by India’s Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Gandhi Colony, Mehrauli, South Delhi.

According to the NCB, the operation followed intelligence reports of suspected narcotics trafficking at the apartment. The agency alleged that some occupants attempted to destroy evidence by flushing suspected drugs down the toilet before officers entered the premises.

During the search, officials said they recovered 318 grams of cocaine and six grams of heroin, while traces of cocaine were also allegedly found on the apartment walls and on the bodies of some suspects.

Nwabugo was immediately taken to Fortis Hospital before being transferred to the AIIMS Trauma Centre for specialised treatment. Authorities said she is currently recovering from injuries to her head, back and leg.

Two other Nigerian nationals, identified as Gabriel Uchenna and Igwe Joshua, were arrested during the same operation. The NCB said investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the alleged drug trafficking activities.

In a separate operation in Goa, police arrested another Nigerian, Igwe Chinudde, over his alleged connection to the seizure of five kilograms of cannabis (ganja) in Navelim.

According to local authorities, Chinudde’s arrest followed investigations into an earlier operation in which another suspect was taken into custody after the drugs were recovered. Police said efforts are continuing to identify other individuals linked to the suspected drug network.
